➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Thanks! That’s good to know. I think I might honestly sell the gerbil supplies though or donate them and just get some sort of reptile instead haha

Thanks! I’ll look that up.

Ah okay. I wasn’t planning on breeding them but just didn’t know if they would if kept together, you know? Like I wouldn’t want to accidentally end up with a million babies. :lau

I think I’ll just go with one for now because that’s probably easier and cheaper and also that way I wouldn’t have to worry about sexing or have to scramble to find a second tank if they started fighting or anything like that haha

But this is probably still a long way off because I haven’t even moved the goldfish out yet haha and I have a ton of other stuff to do first.

But eventually. Ha

I really wish I could get a corn snake but then again I don’t know if I could handle feeding them rodents haha even frozen ones. :sick:hit

Speaking of which I actually kinda was thinking of a crested gecko too because I read they just eat like a powdered mix? No bugs involved. Which is nice for me haha

Plus they’re cute. :love

But I think they’re a little bit more complicated and need a humid environment and more of a tall cage instead of long? So the tank I have probably wouldn’t work.

Snakes seem cool to me too though because you only have to feed them like once a week which is probably better for me ha

But I can of course remember/want to feed animals daily.

Speaking of which, do the geckos need vegetables like the beardies do??

Also the leopard geckos lay eggs and u would have to incubate them to get babies

Ive had most of the critters yall spoke about today :lau

Oooooohhhhh I wonder if I could use the incubator I have!? Probably not. Probably need a special reptile incubator?

And that is awesome!! I am jealous! Haha

Dont get a chameleon Kelsey! And dont go to any reptile show

Chameleons are so cool!! But probably too complicated for me for now lol but maybe eventually....

And yes that is probably a very dangerous place :lau

You're welcome ;)

Oooooohhhhhh gonna have to watch this!! But should probably get back to work LOL

Last month, one of the local pet shops (a good one, not a big box chain) had two week old baby chameleons. Obviously they were not for sale by still I about died they were so cute.

OMG that is awesome!! Now I need to look up baby chameleons :lau

At a reptile show i once brought home one that young, a veiled barely as large as the tip of my finger, horrible idea and i lost it within a week. Too fragile for even an experienced chameleon keeper. Ive had three grow to adulthood over the last 15 years and enjoyed them immensely but theyre Tough.

You dont need a special incubator all the time but some chickens incubators dont stay at a low enough degree easily enough and the eggs arent turned like chickens either. Thats a good way to kill them actually if uve ever seen someone rescuing reptile eggs theyre very careful not to tilt or turn them out of the position they were laid in.

Wow three! That is so cool. They seem like amazing (but challenging) animals.

X2!!!

Leopards are carnivores, but cresties eat goop right?

I think so. Although I was actually referring to the leopards in my question, just forgot to specify haha

But yeah I think I read they eat like a powder mixed with water. Repashy has a crested gecko formula.
