Today has been chilly and... wait for it.. RAINY! And it has been AWESOME!!! We've even had some slight thundering. No major storm or anything. All bark and no bite so to speak. I've been in jeans and a tshirt (with a hoodie when I had to go out to the store) so I'm freezing, my feet and hands are like ice and I absolutely love it! :celebrate

We're still trying to break broody Daisy. Hopefully the significant temperature change will help. We're on day 5. She is being very stubborn. Hopefully come morning she will finally feel better.

The hockey game this past Thurs was amazing! We had such a wonderful time. The club section that we were in had a hot bar. They were serving beef stroganoff, pulled pork, baked cod, and a few other choices. They had another bar that had sliced meats and cheeses, fruit and nuts, bread slices (like a baguette) and a couple of spreads, a couple different salads. Then there was a section that had coffee and various desserts. And then soft drinks, bottled water, some various beers and house wines were free. More top shelf alcohol was an upcharge. But there was quite a bit to choose from. I was blown away. Each seat got a little gift box as well. In it was a lanyard, sticker and a team scarf. Keith Urban performed during one of the intermissions. It was a very special evening.

Yesterday, our neighborhood community had a special event/fund raiser for their fire dept. It started at 11am and lasted until 11pm I think. I didn't stay that long so I'm not sure. But it had a few food trucks and some vendors. Some inflatables for the young kids. The main attraction was music. Country music during the daytime. They had giveaways. Someone won a fiddle signed by Charlie Daniels. I thought that was pretty cool. They did a salute to those in uniform (police, ems, firefighters, military). Some woman (who I think was might have been in one of the rock bands that were to perform that night) sang (if you could call it that. It was AWFUL!) the Star Spangled Banner. I could see her having a good rocker voice. I bet she can shred. But man oh man, she didn't do the Star Spangled Banner any favors. Then the rock performances started. The first to go on was this teen band and they were pretty good. I was surprised. They did covers of Styx, Rush, Whitesnake, Journey, Triumph and then an "encore" which I didn't recognize at all. We ended up leaving shortly thereafter because we're old, weren't very prepared to stay longer (didn't bring lawn chairs or a blanket or bug spray) and we wanted to go home and watch the hockey game :gig. Yeah, we're pretty obsessed. It was still a fun time out and the money for the tickets went to a good cause so it's all good.

It's been a busy past few days.

Okay so I may not have posted a novel this time but I still have a problem with taking/posting too many pictures. :lau

Took the pups on a VERY long walk today and I think they had fun but we were both pooped after. :lau :th:oops:

Anyway, they were a bit uncooperative with looking at the camera today but I made do :lau

I think they were a bit annoyed I kept stopping to take pictures/make them sit and pose :lau :gig :lau

But we had fun.

We were gone like two hours. Of course a lot of that was posing/picture taking :lau  but we still did like 3.5 miles.

ANYWAY.

Before this turns into a novel....

PICTURES.

Wow sounds like you’ve been having a lot of fun!!! Both events sound amazing!! Especially the hockey game!? And all that food was free!? that’s amazing!! Glad you’ve been having so much fun! :D

As for Daisy... is she in a wire bottom cage? I thought I saw from a previous pic she’s in like a regular run? I think being able to be on the ground/solid bottom pen or cage doesn’t really help being broody. That’s where the wire bottom ones are handy. They need the air flowing under them so they can’t keep the “eggs” warm.

Yea the food was free as well. Everything was included with the tickets hubby won. It was pretty special.

As for Daisy. Yeah, we have her locked up in the "run section" of the coop. We let her out in the evening before they go up for the night and so she can sleep with the others. She hasn't been laying on the ground and it worked so well last time so that's why we did it again. Plus it keeps her outside with the flock so she isn't separated from them. She's been roosting on the bars in there for most of the day so I am hoping that helped with the air flow issue. Most of the time she is either perched on the water bowl in there or pacing. When I saw her roosting for most of the day I was like :yesss:. So we will see how she is tomorrow. :fl

It sure sounds like it!! :love

That is awesome!!

Did you try everything!? :D

And ahh okay that makes sense then!! Hopefully she will be broken soon. :fl

I tried a few things. The pulled pork was my fave. It had a really good flavor. I tried the rice they offered. Was supposed to be saffron rice. It wasn't cooked long enough. I almost broke a tooth (exaggerating here but you get the point) on some bites. Some of it was quite crunchy which was disappointing. Had some fruit, nuts, meats and cheeses. They had the biggest blackberries that I have ever seen. They were ginormous! Oh and tried a couple of the salads. They had really good vinegar marinated cucumber slices. They were so good! Tried a couple different cookies that they offered. I brought home a couple other desserts that I thought my son might enjoy. Had a few glasses of wine (their glasses were small so not really all that much).

Hm that’s true. :)

And that’s a good point! I never thought of that. I might try that.

Maybe I’ll start some of my other hobbies again too :lau
You should. :) I used to do lots of quick pen doodles like these.

Now I get so hung up on planning and perfectionism, I never get any drawing done. It’s stupid.

Have you ever seen acrylic paint pouring? It looks so fun and freeing. No thinking or technical skill required. :D Just a crap ton of acrylic paint.. lol.

Good food, good music, good alcohol—for free! What more could you ask for?!
I’m glad y’all had fun, that sounds like such a blast.

The high tomorrow is supposed to be 77!! I’m so freakin excited to voluntarily wear jeans!
