➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I will catch up Wednesday....sometime.
Heading to the airport early in the morning to travel to NOLA to meet my siblings for a long weekend.
Injuries are better.
Worked calves yesterday so the boys can take another load to the stockyards while I'm gone. Hubby and BIL will take care of my chickens and ducks. Hubby will take care of the kittens and dogs....pray a little prayer for him and them!

Got my flu shot and a tetanus shot today. Got the Prevnar13 shot two weeks ago. And will get the new shingles shot when I get home. The Doc wants to run another battery of tests to check thyroid, liver and kidneys on the new meds. Getting older does have its down side...needles!
Further confirmation that I am 21 going on 81... I have to keep up with all of this stuff lol. I feel some of your pain. The joys of having a compromised immune system.
I’ve been real sick this week. Missed a lot of class, including a biochem assignment and quiz. My grade is going to take a big hit. siiigh.

Hope you had a safe flight and are enjoying your time with your siblings. Praying your husband survives your absence.

@Tesumph I had an epic fail as a pet-parent tonight. I was remoistening the moss in Hoshi's enclosure and I decided to try lightly misting him. I swear, lots of resources recommended periodically misting your leo! But..um...he screamed at me :th I feel so bad for scaring him :hit

Oh and if anyone is wondering what a screaming gecko sounds like:
Thanks for the laugh.. sorry for laughing.
I think Finn would murder me in my sleep if I sprayed her. I’ve never heard her scream but I do hear a teeny tiny yawn some nights.

No problem! It is funny. DH laughed his head off when I told him. Resources or no resources, I don’t what I was thinking doing that. It traumatized both of us!

Is it just the tame ones that scream like that? What do the wild ones do when it rains?

All of them are capable of screaming, but they only do it when badly startled or scared, so it is more common for young juveniles to scream. I assume wild geckos are used to sky water and see no reason to scream about it. Hoshi on the other hand....

chorus of screaming geckos in the distance
“Sounds like there’s a storm a-brewin’.”

:yuckyuck
