Do you check your blood sugar? If you don't, you might want to do so and see if it's what's causing the issues. If you can manage it by diet and exercise that would be great.

I don’t but I probably should start. How would I do that? Can I buy something myself or would I need to go to the doctor? I just had a physical earlier this year and everything came back fine but I guess it could change. Either way though I’m going to start eating better and exercising because it’s been borderline for a couple years

It wasn’t quite prediabetes but kinda high and was at the last one too but I never really did anything about it.

Although now I am. Just made myself a delicious breakfast haha

You better go to the doctor NOW before you fall off your parent's insurance.

Yeah I know.

I just had a physical earlier this year but I think I should probably tell him about some of the other symptoms haha

It’s weird though cause sometimes I can go like all day without eating and sometimes I can barely go a few hours ha

Brunch. :)

Scrambled eggs, sweet pepper, onion, garlic, and some spinach. :)

Blood sugar levels can be a problem. You need to see a doctor and you should get at least your A1c levels checked...simple blood test.

My diabetes was diagnosed when I was in my late 30s and because it is hereditary, diet and exercise does help but now I give myself a long acting insulin shot every day. I check my bs levels at waking, before each meal and at bedtime.

I have learned to recognize when mine gets low, but sometimes it will slip up on me. Like yesterday, I made a huge pot of vegetable beef soup...enough to share with the extended family. We had some for lunch with cornbread. Spent the afternoon on paperwork for the farm and put out water for the birds...nothing strenuous.

As I was fixing dinner, I felt light headed, a little dizzy, weak in the knees and my hands were shaking. Tested my sugar and it had dropped to 68....too low for me! Took a glucose tablet and a spoon of honey and got it up to 90.
After dinner everything was fine.

Thanks!! This is really helpful!! I think I’m going to ask for the test cause sometimes I have those exact issues  although sometimes when I have too much caffeine I get a little lightheaded too but even when I don’t drink any I sometimes get like this. I should probably check it especially since it’s been a little on the high side. I’m kind of worried it’d be embarrassing though if it developed after they told me it was on the high side a couple years ago and I didn’t do anything...

I should at least get it tested though. I think the last physical/blood work earlier this year it was still only high, not quite diabetic or even prediabetic, but it could probably change fast.

I’ve been better about eating sugar and stuff lately though but when I do eat it, I down a ton at once which is probably worse for/harder on my body.

I think I’ll get it checked but also at the same time start walking a ton and eating better and seeing if I can’t control it myself without having to be on anything.

You should get it checked, and get it under control now. If you are pre-diabetic you should be able to control it, once you get tested and it's over the threshold to diabetic, it doesn't matter if you get it back under control and under the threshold you will still be labeled diabetic.

Thanks! That makes sense. I’ll have to get it checked ASAP then.

Your doctor can provide you with a free test unit and test strips to get you started. There are many different units available for sale at all pharmacies including at Walgreens, Walmart, etc. It is the test strips that you have to keep buying over and over again.

Did they take a tube or two of blood to test when you went for this physical?
Did you have to not eat for hourrrsss before the appointment?
If not then make an appointment for a full blood workup before you have to pay thousands of dollars for it.
