I am so sad tonight. We scared it off and the duck was still alive but was hurt pretty bad. Had a few puncture wounds over it’s body. We ended his suffering. So now we have to be super careful because I know it will come back to try again. We’ve been lucky up until now. :hit:hit:hit

So sorry! This happened with one of my ducks this past summer. Scared the owl off, it never came back...we were lucky about that. Our duck hen seemed fine with no marks on her, but passed four days later.

I have cut gloves, I can't get the fat out of them and it gets rancid. I have soak them in dawn, washed them in clothes washer on sterilization cycle. I gave up

If you still have fat in the cut gloves after boiling with Dawn dish soap doesn't work like suggested...
If there is no aluminum in your cut glove then you could add lye to water in a glass or plastic bowl. Wear rubber gloves because the lye will heat the water and could chemically burn your hands. Stir the gloves in the lye water. The fat will saponify (turn to soap) with the lye and then wash out.
Food grade lye is used in making pretzels...and in soap making.
Certain drain cleaners contain lye and metals.
