➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Nahhh. Save money and dig a hole in the backyard! Weren’t we just talking about biodegradable funerals?

Yikes. Sorry for your neighbor! Hope he heals quickly without further complications.
I’ll admit I don’t often practice what I preach on my own wounds lol.
Sure, I’ve never had a wound go septic and needed a limb amputated, but I know it’s a real risk and sh*t happens. I’d rather scare someone into being safe than risk the small chance of a disaster.

:lau:gig:lau

And yeah, exactly. I’m usually always careful anyway but still.

Puncture wounds can be an issue and must not be sealed off as they need to heal from the inside. When they are sealed off, it does not allow for proper drainage and can cause serious infections.

Does sealed off include bandaids?

I am confident that what I consider minor for me is not likely what you would consider minor. One of my minor wounds was when I accidentally stabbed myself in the leg. I completely buried the 2 3/4" blade in my leg. I allowed it to bleed well, stopped the bleeding with pressure and it healed fine.

:eek::th

To be fair, the risk of knife wound becoming infected is arguably much less than an animal bite.

Yeah exactly although I’m sure it can happen.

nah you're paranoid because you dont have much real world experience. How to handle even the simplest situations. You need life skills. Employment would be a good start to get you some. I feel for you when something a lil more serious happens. Doesn't seem to affect your typing ability

Excuse me for not wanting it to go septic.

Next time I’ll just let it get infected.

And I think I handled it perfectly fine.

I had already washed and cleaned it and everything by the time I made that post. And I didn’t freak out or scream or cry or anything when he got stuck even though I easily could have. I just got him unstuck and got them home.

Heck, I even stopped by my house first since we were closer to it and checked the chicks. Originally I was gonna drive them home but the keys weren’t there so I figured I’d check the animals while there and clean it there. I was (and still am) more concerned about the animals than I was myself.

I handled it perfectly fine. It was just a bit shocking.

Excuse me for being 100% perfectly calm 110% of the time.

And normally I wouldn’t have even given it second thought beyond washing it and putting Neosporin on it and even now, I’m really not worried about it anymore and handled it just fine, but yes, that post WAS the reason I was extra worried. I think I would know.

I know the chances of it actually getting infected are slim but that person did everything right as well as having a much smaller injury and it STILL landed them in the ER. So yeah, I am a little bit extra worried after reading that.

And I’m typing with my other fingers, much slower than usual, as well as using voice to text for the longer stuff.

I’m really not sure why you continue to be such an ass for no dang reason.

You sound like my DH. He had a chainsaw kick back on him when he was younger into the top of his knee. It took about an inch of skin off. He cleaned it, wrapped it, and continued to cut wood because if he didn't they wouldn't have heat that night. The scar is quite interesting. It's something I noticed when I first met him because he always wore shorts in the summer.

I agree with this individual being quite rude towards you. Everything was joking until that comment. This is the part that hurts my heart... There's constructive criticism like Kiki gives which helps you. Then there's being a jerk which isn't helpful at all.

You're amazing and don't let people try to kill everything you've hoped and dreamed about for your life. You're still young regardless of what people think.

@KDOGG331 honestly I should worry about my health a bit more because I get rituxan infusions which wipes out my immune system. I guess I feel like my body doesn't have the time to get sick or an infection :lau I've got enough on my plate without adding more to it.

In all fairness everyone takes each life situation differently and the way that you handle things is not necessarily the way that someone else should handle things. That's what makes humans unique, we are not all the same.

I wonder if y'all would throw a fit if it had been me that typed this message.

I agree with it.

Cassie I'm sorry that happened to you... Poor dog.

Stop reading scary stories on the internet they're not going to happen to you.

I think there's a way to address people and it's all in the way you write it. When you are writing something to someone you have to be very cautious in how you write it and the way that it sounds.

I feel like when someone has asked you repeatedly to stop talking to them a certain way, you need to take that into consideration.

I have never heard you talk like that and repeatedly saying something over and over to someone when they already get the point to me is just ridiculous.

She's trying as hard as she can and I think she needs to be cut some slack not a ton, but she has put in applications and is trying.

I remember when my father used to be really hard on me all the time and it completely backfired when I rebelled against him. I turned into a partier and I was hanging out with the wrong crowd. Sometimes I wish that he would have been a less hard on me and gave me compliments when I did something good. Everything I did was never enough. When I would play basketball 20 points in a game was never enough. When I scored those 20 points I felt like I completely dominated the game and then I would get into the car with my father and hear about everything that I did wrong instead of saying "good job tonight." Sometimes he does it to my youngest at his swim meets and I always pull him aside to tell him to cool off.

I see success in the little things like him taking seconds off from his last swim. I feel like positive reinforcement is better than negative reinforcement. When someone is rewarded for just the little accomplishments, they will succeed more than someone who is given negative reinforcements for doing small things.

I guess it's how one reads a post that makes a difference and we all read them in our own way.
I didn't read his in an ugly way/tone.
