➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

What are you incubating first in it?
I don't know. Whatever starts laying first, I guess? This year I have plans for Japanese quail, Chinese painted quail, Peaches, Buff Chanteclers, Call ducks, and maybe some Partridge Chantecler/White Rock crosses to form a cockerel line to use on the Leghorn pullets I will be buying as chicks.

Can't wait to see everything you hatch!

I have a question for you that you probably can answer If I have a sebright rooster and he mates with my Delaware... Will their offspring be bantam?

In my experience, crosses between bantams and LF produce birds pretty much in between the size of the two.

Oh thank goodness!

I didn't want to have a bunch of mini chickens running around :gigthat sebright is the cockiest thing I've ever met. He struts his stuff like he's got it all!

I wanted to breed my polish with him, but she doesn't seem interested. She hasn't laid an egg yet either and I think she's close to 8 months old.

He’s new still. I’m sure she’ll get used to him!! :D

And some of my new pullets haven’t laid yet either. It’s the low light I think.

Mini chickens are the best, though! I keep thinking about abandoning my LF entirely in favour of my little dudes.

She gave him the dirtiest luck yesterday when he started dancing around her. I busted out laughing and told him that he needs to come up with something better.

He was the first chicken to walk up to me this morning and I absolutely love him!

I had leftover noodles from last night that are made from chickpeas so I figured I would give them some of it and he jumped right on the bowl and started pigging out :gighes definitely a member of our flock now.
