That took me embarrassingly long to figure out

Many (possibly all) come from owners. There is a memorial program that allows owners to donate the bodies for students and research.
Some have nametags attached and all of their heads are kept covered out of respect for the dog.

I need names for my chickens and Gina is not one of them because I don't think I could say that name without laughing.

Every time I ask a friend what I should name a chicken she always comes up with these names that I couldn't even say without laughing

Mine were usually named from books or movies. Marvel characters, the power puff girls, frozen....or I get my brothers kids to name them.

I love Marvel lol

Although I do like Batty's approach and once named, there is no take-back-sies. Natasha is gorgeous. I hope he fathers many generations.

Spot - Leghorn with black shoulder patch.
Mama - the Broody Leghorn. The other Broody leghorn passed after brooding.
Old Black - the only broody chick from last year left. She lays large brown eggs.

That leaves the 3 Ds, the other leghorn, and the 12 Barnyard Surprises

Names are easy.
