All will be well, and that will be well is well.
I use 2.5 gallon buckets and just set them on the ground. They don’t have any trouble drinking from them. Occasionally one will get tipped over, but they’re outside or in the deep Litter dirt floor greenhouse so it doesn’t matter. I have the one with the deicer in a plastic milk crate (those plastic storage baskety-kind-of cubes) so it can’t be tipped over.Yeah, I think I’m just gonna wait. Our winters have been soooooo mild lately. I used to love it but now I honestly wish we got snow and cold
I usually don’t let it get super low so I don’t think it would be an issue for me but idk if I like the nipples that much.
Thanks for the info! Very helpful! I don’t really like the vertical ones cause they’d have to be hung and I don’t really have a place to do it plus I heard they leak. I only have chickens so I don’t have to worry about other species thankfully and all mine are big enough to push the nipples now I think. Though I’m intrigued by the plain bucket. Do you just fill it to the top and have it low enough for them to drink from the top or cut holes in it or? Have you ever seen the big 55 gallon drums with different height nipples for all species and/or steps for the super small ones? I always thought that was pretty cool.
