Knock on wood, I don't have Japanese beetles.
To keep chickens and ducks out of my raised beds I stuck bamboo stakes in the beds along the the edges and ran 24 inch wide chicken wire around the outside. Once the plants were established I could take the wrap off....until my Rhodesian Ridgeback decided she liked broccoli and cabbage and cauliflower and peas and....
None of my animals or wild critters like marigold or petunias or the iris and day lilies.

Yeah I was going to put large started plants in there to start with.

I had a dream last night that I got sebastapol geese. It was magical.

I'm going to see what kind they have at the local farm, I'll report back. You can't order them till March.

I think so I just don't know what geese to get. I'm getting only female too

Yeah there's a microwave but I don't bug the nurses I like to keep my room free of people. The more people the more agitated I get. Even though my nurse today is the best guy nurse ever!

My ducks practically salt the earth. The eat onions, garlic, all life. I've never had geese in my garden, but I can't imagine anything worse than the ducks.
