➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I hated my African gray gander. He was mean.
My Chinese White goose hen was really sweet and gentle.
A friend has Ponderosa and loves them
Another friend breeds Toulouse...massive sweethearts.
Ok I think you guys have convinced me. I'll ask the hubs and see what he says. I think I deserve a few geese 😁

:hugs
You know best. We are rooting for you!

DD#2 has one year left and she's getting antsy. Senior project time and she has declared her team idiots. Assigned teams are challenges.

Peace.
DS is in his last semester senior project and has lost 3 group members for various reasons so he’s the last man and MET standing to complete the drawings, the build, etc! He’s stressing big time!

Watching triple d on the TV 😁 I love this show. I'm having a much better day! And hoping I do go home tomorrow. I just want rest and it's so hard to do here with all the noise and being bugged every 5 seconds.

I had to Google what that was LOL but once I did, I love that show!!! And I hope you get to go hole and get some rest!!

Exactly! My ducks ate every tiny cabbage, Pak Choi and carrot that came up last fall!
My friend with the Ponderosa geese says they make great orchard weeders.
Every last bit of green, right? I have heard that maybe calls aren't as bad, but I don't want to risk it to find out.
This is great news about the orchard. I fenced them in this year to that area. I'm hoping they keep the weeds in check.

I tried those Japanese beetle bags... I put them away on the other side of the yard not even near our garden and I swear every beetle from the county I'm in was in my yard killing everything :barnie I think my ducks will do the job though I'm just going to think long and hard about a fence to put around my raised garden beds. We will see.

I'll probably just put the garden boxes and with them with just the dirt and see what they do. Then I will add some type of plant that's cheap like a marigold to see what they do.
Knock on wood, I don't have Japanese beetles.
To keep chickens and ducks out of my raised beds I stuck bamboo stakes in the beds along the the edges and ran 24 inch wide chicken wire around the outside. Once the plants were established I could take the wrap off....until my Rhodesian Ridgeback decided she liked broccoli and cabbage and cauliflower and peas and....
None of my animals or wild critters like marigold or petunias or the iris and day lilies.
