Not plastic, it's made from Sand

ETA of course next week they will find something wrong with it too small
:clap
Pardon my paranoia. Teflon was once considered a safe alternative also. As was magnalite (magnesium cookware), aluminum cookware, et al.

We keep advancing and that is a good thing.

Yes, I prefer cast iron after scraping the teflon off the aluminum pots.

Plastic is defined as organic polymers. Since silicone is a silicon based polymer -(R-Si-O)-, you are correct, it is not considered a plastic. It can contain carbon in the R- groups.

Word for the day: polysiloxanes

I don't use anything that has Teflon. I always cook with cast iron pans or stainless steel.

I never knew tea came in plastic bags. But then again I usually just buy the cheap grocery store kind and paper is probably cheaper for them. :lau
I drink the grocery store kind, but I don't consider it cheap. It's not super expensive but it does cost $5 for only 14 tea bags and sometimes it's on sale for $3 so I stock up.

I want to go to a tea store where you can make your own tea blends.

I want to learn how to make a rose tea because I have a lot of roses and I would like to use them.

They'll always find something wrong with everything. They had this huge thing about how coconut oil is awful for you and then the next week they said it's the best thing ever 🙄
Don't forget that eggs will cause heart failure. Oops, eggs are good for your heart due to the LDL/HDL mumbo jumbo. :lau

Use the rose hips (calyx) and steep like hibiscus calyxes.
The mint is growing, but doesn't have that spring time mintiness yet. I add 10 mint sprigs (tip plus 3 sets of leaves) to a half gallon of tea for a nice mintiness. Spring time is best.

Doing a little research, I've been over heating the mint. I plan to do better. Will try it at a lower temperature for improved flavor.

I do recommend the mint since if you have some planted, you have an excess. The chickens are eating the bits that poked through the protective wire. And I read on the internet that chickens didn't like mint. Hmm.

My chickens love eating roses and hibiscus. I did have a hibiscus tree but the stupid Japanese beetles killed it 🤬

I have a rose bush that is planted in a huge pot that the chickens like sitting under in the summer. They also like picking off the flowers and eating them, which I don't mind because they're healthy for them.

They always say that so many foods are bad for you, I just stopped listening. Once they started to say that my coconut oil was bad, I didn't read about what else was bad 😂 they started saying fries too but I make homemade ones so I don't know if that counts. And if it does I'm still going to eat them 😂

Oh yeah they’re not necessarily cheap but I was just meaning like in comparison to the super fancy, expensive teas they are. Like some teas are several hundred dollars for a pound or even like $50 for just a few ounces so in comparison to those, $5 is cheap aha but they’re also pure and don’t have any additives or anything in them.
