➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I'm sure these ducks will be mixed because he doesn't separate by breeds. Hopefully I get a nice mixed duckling, but I won't know how they'll look. I guess I'll choose the one with the most colorful fluff 😂
My black and yellow ducklings turned out black and white. A blue will stay blue. A muddy yellow will be buff. My brown and gold turned out mallard cross. All black were my Cayuga and a clean yellow was Pekin.

See!!!!! I must have one!!!!
That was how I got started....ended up selling 41 out of the 42 because Daisy went into hide mode.

Aaargh! - Severe duckling fever attack imminent! - where the heck is that jar with the duck-poop?!?
The stink doesn't leave the ground right away either. Going to throw lime and roto till the pen come spring and scatter rye, and Bermuda grass seed and arrow leaf clover seed.

This week has been busy so far: moving to the rent house is going slowly...scheduling the carpenter, the electrician and the plumber; setting up the cabinet incubator is now complete; selecting show birds for the conditioning cages is done and I set eggs for the first hatch for 2020.

The eggs are due March 12 and the poultry show is March 21...I have 5 cockerels, 1 cock, 1 hen and 4 pullets to register this week. Getting the Columbian Wyandotte out for other breeders to see will certainly build interest in the breed. It will be a good test of my breeding strategies the past 10 years and I look forward to hearing what the judges and breeders have to say.

Showing birds for the first time is a learning curve for me. Fortunately I have friends who have shown some of their breeds and are willing to answer my questions about the dos and don'ts of prepping birds for show.

And yes, @Kiki I plan on taking before, during and after photos of the remodel...once I have the kitchen and bathroom stuff moved I'll take some. The house looks in disarray, but there is order in my chaos. We have the girls and their families lined up to help move the big furniture. I'm hauling the small stuff now.
