➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I also have pics on que to show the breeders off and i have netted some sales for those but they cant get enough eating eggs. Several times the first customer has taken All of them but i dont let em get built up into the teens. The most ive sold is 7 doz all at once. I dont have that many chicken hens and theyd be over a month old by then. At a month old i cook em for the birds.
I'm going to try to bring some to my swap and see what happens

1 of my turkey poults died yesterday, it had a couple seizures before it died. I held it until it passed :hit . I don't know what was wrong with it, it had been picked on over night, probably by the guinea cockerel.

I think I'm back up to 14 dozen..... I had 18 before I gave 13 dozen away...
I think it's time to downsize, but I can't decide who to get rid of because I like all my chickens. Got 22 eggs yesterday.

That’s so sad! :hit so sorry! :hugs

:frow Hi all!

I'm finally caught up over here. I've been watching the other Kiki Quitting Smoking thread but haven't commented on it yet. I'm so stinking proud of you woman that I can't even articulate it! :hugs:celebrate That thread is flying and am so far behind but I will catch up eventually.

My heart breaks for you Tes. I wish I had something inspired and uplifting to say but I just hurt for you and can't think. I am so very sorry for your loss! :hugs

And FortCluck, boy you have been through the wringer over the last couple/few weeks. I am glad to read that while you are still in the process of recovering, you are at least home and feeling better. That was super scary!

As for me.... I've been meh. I tweaked my knee a while back and it keeps getting aggravated and I am finally at a point where I can take care of it. So I had to get am MRI to confirm what I pretty much already knew. I tore my meniscus. Nothing major but definitely annoying. The interesting thing is that I also chipped a piece of bone off of my knee. I guess when I took a spill at some point in time. So I am going to have to have surgery, which will be an outpatient thing which I appreciate, but it's still going to suck. And it's my driving leg! :rant:duc:he It's going to suck so bad y'all but I keep telling myself that it will only be temporary. It's not helping but I still keep telling myself that.

Hubby's out of town for business for the weekend. His overseas business trip has definitely been postponed with this crazy coronavirus wreaking havoc and we don't know when, if at all, he will have to go.

Other than that, nothing interesting going on around here.

Post pics once they hatch! Mine aren't due to hatch till the 5th and the 12th 😩 it's taking forever
I will. There are 2 pips now & I hear chirping.... got the temporary brooder set up, they're not gonna be here but about 5 or so days. But I also have more hatching going on during the next 2 weeks...
Do u use a swap? I can always come off of as many eggs as ive got at the swaps.
I haven't yet, not many get out until it warms up & I'd be at the mercy of whomever shows up at the livestock sales. I may could sell some at the local flea market, I don't know what their fees are....

I get almost 2 dozen a day now, I'm giving eggs away left & right. Even a dollar a dozen would be nice!

4 pips in the Kelso Coon eggs & none of the Ramsey Grays have pipped yet.... lots of chirping and no zipping yet.
Just locked down my 7 last little quail eggs.....all with movement observed.
This is gonna be a busy week.
I can't believe you're still hatching! What did you do with the 100 eggs you hatched last month?

You must have a lot of meat in the freezer

I sold all of my Coturnix, only have my Bobs, chicken, guinea & turkey. Oh and ducks. The couple that bought my goats bought the quail. The quail eggs I set were the last day's collection.
