Could you maybe get a pic of it from the other side, and of the other ones too, when you have a chance? I think the Epsom soak is a good idea, but with bumbles you have to get in and dig them out. (maybe after a soak) I haven't experienced these, but I've seen other peeps' posts about treating them.

Oh yes, and since you're into alternative treatments, you might also consider picking up some comfrey leaf (or root). We have a health food store that carries it here or I'm sure it's available online. I steep it 10 minutes in hot water then let it cool to warm and apply as a poultice. It's very mucilaginous. It has cell regeneration properties, but you do need to clear out the ick first if she has bumbles.

Yeah I'll have to get a pic another day because I don't want to stress her out too much. I touched the lump and inspected it. I think with bumble there's usually a scab that you soak off from what I've read on here. There was no scab to be seen. I was thinking about taking a sterile 18 gauge needle and poking it to see if I can get anything to squeeze out. We agreed we would do it in a few days.

She hasn't been handled at all for 3 years. We left her in the coop this morning and caught her that way because the coop she is in only fits about 4 chickens. She calmed down after my husband held her for a bit. Then I did oil on her legs. I'll treat the legs then work my way to her feet.

She's not having any trouble walking. It's just weird that it's on her toe not the bottom of her foot like I've seen.

Okay thank you so much. I love alternative stuff not that I won't use antibiotics or anything, but I try to use the alternatives first. The scaly mites I looked it up and it said oil of any kind so I did vegetable since I never use it so I'm unsure why we even have it.

Her scales all coming off and it's the first thing I noticed when she was in the cage they had her in. My chickens legs are smooth so I knew instantly something wasn't right yesterday.

Maybe all the issues I see are the reason why she's not laying. We will see in April because I assume it'll take time for her to adjust.

She's going to town on the Purina flock raiser I gave her for breakfast. Today she's getting egg shells with some homemade Mac and cheese my father sent especially for her He said he doesn't care about our chickens (he's an old farmer and is through with that life) but he instantly said to bring the food to the new chicken

There are two other toes that have smaller lumps in the exact same spot. I just want to get this chicken all fixed up so she can enjoy her retirement at my house. My husband said I have hawk eyes because he didn't notice anything wrong yesterday... I told him that's why I inspect the chickens because he's oblivious to these things.

Better tell them about the mites and try to get them to treat before those new chicks from you are exposed

He sounds like a sweetie. If she's not laying, from what I've read here, she doesn't need calcium supplemented--but she'll no doubt eat around the eggshells if she doesn't need them.
