➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I sold out. I have more hatching though tomorrow.

My 13 week old pullets are all gone so now I can add more. We have a new coop coming on Saturday. It'll fit about 15+ chickens. I sold the ones I wanted to keep, but the person was in love when I showed them to him.
The only way that I sell something that I want to keep is if the price is high enough to replace it and more.

It was. I bought 4 more silkie bantams. Plus got 42 free chicken eggs to hatch more of the coloring I liked because they came from my friends.

I even sold 4 of the bantams I wanted to keep, but not my porcelain d'uccle because it's a Pullet and I'll never find one again.

I assume that you now understand the gesture that I made.
I will keep sending you pictures until yours blooms. Then you can send me pictures since these will fade shortly. The roadsides are filled with them and Indian Paintbrushes and Spiderwort. A few others I haven't named yet. We are getting into the 80s already. Thunderstorms and humidity means summer is around the corner. The fields on the roadside with yellow bobbing heads are gorgeous. The bees flitting and birds darting.

Another reason I live this far south.

Wanna see my banana flowers? Got one fruiting already! The ones I thought I'd lost due to frost last year, one withered away, the more mature set survived and I brought it in last week to finish ripening. While not as sweet or large, the bunch will make 3 loaves of banana bread. Loaf #2 on the stove cooling off and tastes great.

I have a dozen LF, five mutt bantams, five Buff Chanteclers, around twenty-two Japanese quail, two ducks, and six Chinese painted quail (though, being indoor birds, they don't really count.) Maybe a few others I have forgotten, but that's the majority.
I am taking notes...so I can get it to sink in.
I can not keep track anymore it seems.
Maybe I need a cigarette.

I set 140 chicken eggs for the first batch in March. Unfortunately or is that fortunately, 100 of them were infertile. The temperature was running a little low and the humidity was running a little high. In the end, only 7 eggs hatched. All 7 are pullets.

A couple of the roosters are going to die because of this. The reason more eggs are in the incubator is because I need replacement roosters.
I am going to have to make a Google sheet for this thread.
:D

The professionals have not even started yet. They are still laying eggs.

If I was a professional, I would be setting the 6 doz. turkey eggs that are being stored in my basement. I hope to remove temptation by giving them away as eating eggs tomorrow or the next day.

Rumor has it that a couple of beautiful young ladies from the dentist's office will be here to rescue Johnny Jump Ups from the garden before the monster that lives here destroys them in favor of vegetables.
How long would you let those eggs sit down there before you wouldn't set them?
