As of today, they are 6 days old.

I let Momma Pancake into the gen pop with the 2 babies. Will be interesting to see where she beds tonight. The last broody took the chicks back to the nest box in the coop. Didn't care for the tractor, I guess.

Momma happily scratching for the babies and everyone else just watching.

We have successfully allowed the mother hens to choose when to introduce their babies to the general population. Often another hen will help nanny the chicks with the mother hen's approval.

Picked black berries this morning after the rain stopped and made a quick cobbler.


And decided to take a photo of the early evening clouds over the farm. My pictures were photo bombed!


The dragon fly had a green head that doesn't show in the picture.
