Okay, just making sure -- going by weight would be way, way, differet.

Why?

Bee said: teriyaki marinade, it's really easy. Equal parts soy sauce, sugar, sake, and mirin.

Weighing each one would be a little more trouble, but the soy sauce and mirin should be close. Sake will be a little lighter depending on the alcohol content, so more by volume. Sugar depends on heaping teaspoon or leveled.

I don't think it would be that different and you can try it and see what you like more. For example, I don't care for Soy Sauce or Mirin, so I'd leave those out. Trying to cut down, so no sugar. I do like sake, so I'd just have a cup of that. QED.

Smoked quail is done! (yes, those are kitty paw prints on the stove. They were there this morning and I left them for the day because I thought they were cute. The cat knows darn well that he's not supposed to be on the stove...)
