(So...What's happened so far? Sorry for leaving for a bit. :p )
(I thought you were leaving :p
Brooklyn and Simeon are somewhere, my characters and Artemis are somewhere else, your characters are somewhere, and I don't know where FM64's character is. Any more questions? XD )

Besides being her guard while she was imprisoned, Jaxson wasn't quite sure what he had done to arouse such a response. He was taken aback a bit and he frowned in thought. Actually, he had hoped for a slightly positive response; after all, he did risk his job and life to help her escape. "May I ask what is it is that you think I try to make up for?" He asked politely. Nothing came to mind unless Amy had told her things.

Amy watched but couldn't hear the conversation as she was listening to the remaining couple's to-go order. Heavens, they were slow.

"Don't play games with me, Jaxson. I know what you've done, they found me while I was looking at your records." Artemis paused to take a shaky breath, glancing sideways to avoid his gaze. "I wanted to know.. It was foolish, and I shouldn't have done it, maybe if I hadn't I wouldn't have been imprisoned. But to me it was worth the risk to know who killed my father." Artemis stopped abruptly looking to the floor as if it could offer an escape. "You were there; don't tell me that you weren't because your name was on the file. There was a recording too, incase it was needed to scare other Contenders into submission knowing what there deaths would look like." Her heart now raged with emotion, and she lifted her gaze to meet Jaxson's, her eyes solemn with heartbreak. "I watched the video, I don't know why, maybe I thought that someone it would give me some peace, or that it would give me closesure after not having the chance to have said goodbye.." She paused before finishing, why was she expressing her feelings to this man who deserved nothing more than being told the facts? "Hans wanted to know where to find my brother, but when my father refused you held my father, bound and helpless to defend himself from the C.MI., and then Hans killed him. You couldn't have even killed with honor; Hans decided to hurt him in a way death was inevitable only if the bleeding wasn't stopped, but you didn't stop it. You held my father back as he bled to death, slowly and painfully in the hope that he would tell Hans were my brother was so that his death could be prevented. But instead you held my father as he died. You killed my father." Artemis whole being shook with uncontrollable emotion, and tears flowed freely down her face in silence.

(That's kind of power playing :p So let's see how I can weed my way out of this...)

Jaxson listened patiently as she carried out her rant. He was used to rants, as the majority of females he had spent notable amount of time in the company of often did them. When she finally finished, he took a deep breath and met her gaze.
"Before arguing my case for 'killing your father', I'd like to point out that you had absolutely no excuse to be going through my file," he said with resoluteness. "Those are personal and reserved for only the head and the individual whose name is on the file. As for my argument, I was merely doing what I was told. If one of your Contender leaders commanded you to execute someone, then I bet you would do it. But that's an exaggeration. For, when an execution is carried out, is it not the man holding the needle to blame? Not the man holding the victim. And in case those videos didn't lay it step by step for you, I wasn't the man holding the needle. I never have been in all the many, many cases I have witnessed."
He kept his tone down, his voice firm but quiet as he explained himself, rather well, Amy thought.

(Not really, as previously mentioned by Jaxson he was tired of bringing people to be executed, but since these people were nameless they could be anyone, including Artemis' dad :p )

"I am not a murderer." Artemis defended. It was true, she may have wounded a few C.M.I. agents to protect herself or someone else, but she had never killed anyone, and never would even if told by her superior. Artemis simply wasn't a killer. "You may have not killed my father, but you bear the same amount of blood on your hands as the one who did for not only stopping the death but in aiding it." The pain of trying to hold back the tears collected in her throat, and Artemis gasped for breath. "Just, stop. Just stop." She whispered, taking a step back. The back of her hand was thrown against her mouth as she erupted into sobs. Artemis turned away and fled up the stairs, seeking an escape from Jaxson's explaination in the shelter of Amy's apartment.
