Amy stared after her with a concerned look on her face. This whole situation had become seriously complicated in so many ways, and adding that they were possibly being watched didn't help matters. She was thankful, though, that that had been brought to her attention. Since there had never been any serious incidents with Contenders in the past, she had become rather lax in her ways. It was good to be kept on one's toes. She returned to the sink to finish the dishes, thoughts of the Poles now weighing on her kind. He genuinely wanted the reconciliation between them, as did she, but for now it seemed only he would actually be around. And for how long? And where did they each stand in this war?

Artemis heart raged within her chest, but her appearance was unrevealing of her emotions, and she kept herself outwardly calm while inquiring customers if they enjoyed their food or not.

Jaxson turned the corner that led onto the street he lived on. He had made good timing, as he had yesterday, but today he beat Vanessa home. A message on his phone told him that she would be home late due to unexpected meetings and not to wait up, not that he would of anyway. Time separated from his overly protective sister was welcome. He paused at a stop sign and waited as a young woman crossed the street, bags of groceries in hand, and his thoughts instantly turned to Amy's employee, Layla, who he knew was not who she claimed to be. Wether Amy knew that or not was unclear yet.

A second pedestrian crossing nearly became the victim of a motorcycle accident as Jaxson swerved swiftly around the woman just in time, cursing himself for not focusing on the road. He had still been deep in thought about Layla, whose identity he had just realized.
----------
Amy finished the dishes and went out to help Artemis. Movement felt slow, dreamlike, a recurring thing these past days. She recieved and fulfilled orders without thinking, yet everything was correct. Had she really fallen this deep into it, into her relatively easy and predictable life? Yes, she decided; Artemis and these complications were welcome.

~
(Time skip? I'm getting a little board..)
Artemis cleaned up two of the tables against the floor to ceiling windows after a few of her customers left.

(next evening? Near closing? XD)

(As long as Jaxson comes for a visit ;) )
It was late evening, and only a few customers remained. While they finished eating Artemis cleaned the tables that weren't currently being used, and made sure the condiments were filled.
