One of my quail hatched early. It was supposed to hatch Saturday

I have a candle report, day 10 first candle. It is a good day to be a pig, as 12 of the 44 eggs are heading out there as a snack. These eggs were hand-carried (my truck carried) from the source at FoxFire, it had been quite hot (for us) that week, maybe the girls were not in the mood.

14 Cream Legbars (4 infertile)
13 BCM (4 infertile and a blood ring)
17 BBS (3 Infertile)

A few of the eggs are so dark my bright as the sun candler can't really see and got marks of "I think they are dead" but still put them back in the cooker. We will see on day 18.

Set Araucana eggs yesterday. Set more BCM eggs and some questionable CCL eggs (not sure they are going to be pure bred...sounds like they could possibly be crossed) today. My SFH are on the way. And just ordered more Isbar/Silverudds and CCL as well as Speckled Sussex. And have replacement Wheaten Marans on the way. Crossing fingers my hatches start turning around. Pretty sure the last 3 BCM eggs out of the group I dropped are DIS (these did not fall...hatch day was yesterday). Sold 8 of my April hatch pullets and have another person really interested in buying some BCM, CCL, and Isbar from me.

That "not pure" thing would really piss me off. You and are in doing similar things so I'm putting myself in your shoes. All the work to the the egg/chick/pullet/cocks up to the age to discover it isn't what you worked so hard on.... I'm steamed just thinking about it.

It is irritating. I'm already making plans to sell them as crosses if any hatch. I ordered 10 from another seller and have already contacted Cindy (foxfirepavillions) to see if she was thinking she would have anymore (which she said she was going to), so will probably get more from her too. (If I hatched mostly cockerels from her the first time....then I should get mostly pullets the 2nd time right? Lol! Wishful thinking.)
