3 of the 4 have hatched. The one that piped on the bottom needed assistance. It turned out it piped nowhere near the air cell. I helped a little at a time over the course of the day. The last one has internally piped but no external pip yet. There is writing on the eggs from the hatchery that on the last one is a different color so I think it's just behind a day technically hatch day for all of them should have been tomorrow.
I started with 12 of the deathlayer gold and silver crosses one egg broke in the box 7 were clear or quit early.

I realized last night that something was up with my spreadsheet that I use to keep track of candling and hatching dates....seemed like an awful big gap between day 18 and hatch day for the batch of eggs that I just put into the hatcher. Yep....I set them on day 16 instead of day 18. They got about a day and a half of higher humidity, but I sucked up as much water as I could without removing the eggs and left them in there with humidity closer to my incubator humidity. I will add water again when I see the first pip.

Crazy hatching happening with my sebright and bantam EE eggs yesterday/today! They were due tonight, but had 10 hatch since yesterday afternoon. So far everyone is good. Those sebrights sure pop when they decide to start hatching. Lol. Much better hatch so far than the last sebrights for sure. Quick pic when I was transferring the unhatched eggs to the “quieter” incubator. Had to rescue one already when the others were playing football with it. Lol. This was last night before the rest hatched. Thankfully they’re all hatching on their own with no assistance. 👍

Hi guys. Rough week for me. Sorta kinda.

My broody, Screech hatched out two darling little pin heads a week ago today. Starter her on 4 eggs but two were clears. One looks like a full blooded Egyptian Fayoumi the other is a cross of lordie only knows what. I'm hoping that the EF is a rooster as I only have one at the moment. My luck, they will both be male.

Then on Saturday, while moving my Brinsea to a safer location for lock down and hatch, the top fell off. It's happened before but fortunately not as catastrophically as it did this time. Two eggs went to the floor at two weeks incubation and died, three were cracked one survived intact. I immediately grabbed candles and waxed over the cracks. This morning I scrapped off as much of the wax as I could and noticed one has an internal pip going on. I don't know if any will survive hatching without infection but I'm prepared to assist.

I've been doing this for 5 years now and this is the first time I've had this happen to eggs in my Brinsea Mini Eco. My mood has been pretty low since it happened. I know these things to happen to the best of them but.......The first order of business when and if these eggs hatch will be to figure out what is wrong with the lid. I am suspecting it's the manual turning mechanism as I'm feeling a slight rocking in the lid when I move it.

In the mean time I will try to get pics of Screech and her two little fluffy butts.

I just checked and one of the eggs has an external pip...at the wrong end and two days earlier than expected. The two that are due today nada. I see movement but they seem delayed.

I got such a gloomy feeling about this hatch...:hit
