We just hatched 9 Welsh Harlequin ducks. I have a old wine cooler I have converted to an incubator, and a Nuture Rite 360. Ducks are a side business for us, but selling the eggs really doesn't pay the bills. I plan on having multiple turners in the cooler and a dedicated hatcher, so we can have babies every week.

I love your plan. We are moving in that direction also but we are just now getting (hatching) our foundation flock so it will be spring before we can start offering live chicks or hatching eggs. For us this is a step into retirement. We are a few years out still but would like to supplement our income from home. No ducks for us yet but hopefully next year. :) :jumpy

My plan as well, I have part of the flock now, but the rest are arriving in August (or hatching in August). So spring for me too. Not the retirement part, I couldn't stand working anymore so I already did that! So now I work harder for no money. :)

The plan is to have 1 drake and 5 hens of at least 4 different breeds and rotate the Hatches. $5 a dozen for eggs or $5 per duck seams like easy math to me.
