Set Araucana eggs yesterday. Set more BCM eggs and some questionable CCL eggs (not sure they are going to be pure bred...sounds like they could possibly be crossed) today. My SFH are on the way. And just ordered more Isbar/Silverudds and CCL as well as Speckled Sussex. And have replacement Wheaten Marans on the way. Crossing fingers my hatches start turning around. Pretty sure the last 3 BCM eggs out of the group I dropped are DIS (these did not fall...hatch day was yesterday). Sold 8 of my April hatch pullets and have another person really interested in buying some BCM, CCL, and Isbar from me.
Not sure exactly where to put this, but it is following along from the questionability of these chickens' breeding so I thought this might be a logical spot. This is an "unlisted" video, so hopefully it'll show up. You can definitely see the "beards" on a couple of them, the one without a crest, and that roo looks like he's got a beard and muffs.

They’re cute!

I’m obsessed with my bantams! I haven’t kept a standard chicken in months. Bantams are so much nicer even the cockerels. They’re a lot friendlier.
Interesting. If I like these I might order some Turken bantam hatching eggs. I kinda like the idea of having smaller birds...it means I can have more variety. No more JG?

My JG has been gone for a while. I have a Deathlayer cross (Ozzy), bantam Brahma (Rocky), porcelain d’uccle (Charming), Mille fleur d’uccle (Elvis), Golden Comet Deathlayer (Hawkeye), and a Polish Deathlayer (Rumple). Most of these I hatched or got from the manager at TSC. Ozzy was given to us the day we rehomed the BJG.

The BJG wasn’t fitting in with our birds. He was causing too much damage to their feathers.

Yup. My thoughts as well. The one actually looks pretty good, at least to my unpracticed eye. Given that the eggs these chicks came from were all remarkably similar, and the hens as best I can remember remarkably similar as well, I'm really wondering if another roo didn't spend some time in that pen.

I think that happens even with a gentle roo. Sorry he didn't work out.
