I've been drawing for ten or eleven years now; recently I haven't done much at all, but perhaps I can get into some doodles of chickens now and then. I can probably track down some of my older art or a few newer pieces if non-chicken work is okay.

I like that a lot better! The comb should be further back though...I fixed the body of that one, but then messed up the head and made it unsavable. So I drew another one. Ignore the writing and the doodle in the background
. It's still a WIP.View attachment 2526007View attachment 2526008

I was outlining a little bit, but mostly just on the neck and many body and tail shape. Next time I will extend that to the head as well! Sometimes I just get lazyWow! What improvement in just one go! Great work, especially in the body. Lovely variation of form.
Are you drawing by outlining the form first and then adding detail? If so, I would suggest trying to draw light vague shapes instead, especially for the head, like drawing a circle for the skull and wattles where they attach, and an oval for the comb where it sits. By simplifying your drawing into shapes first, it's easier to position the anatomy correctly by looking at how the shape's edges interact to form the outline, and adjusting accordingly. Once you think you've got it right, you can draw the outline over them, erase the inner lines, and add your detail.
I am really new to this website so please tell me how to post drawings!I've been meeting more people who want to get into, or are already into, drawing poultry!
So this is a club to chat about chicken art, show your drawings, share poultry models etc.
I love drawing myself, and I also love to chat to other artists!
(NOTE: This is about chicken drawings/paintings, and also other poultry art, but if you want to share your unrelated art - eg. your model of a cactus made out of sugar cubes [hey, ok, just the first thing that came into my head]- then that's fine by me !
OK! So let's begin!
I can't post the art here, so I'll tag some people who I drew avvies for (sorry to bother you![]()
