And honestly I haven’t seen big dogs resource guard their humans very much. Usually it’s little dogs that do that from what I’ve seen hah usually any size dog can resource guard food, bones, toys, etc. etc. but as far as their owners, I usually see it in little dogs so that’s interesting lol but yeah

Willow does, but that's most likely a breed thing. She doesn't do it with people but has with dogs. She's better but a few weeks ago a dog growled at me and she was being very protective of me, I had to walk her away to make sure she didn't start something. She gets along with other dogs but if they show anything towards me she will get protective

Denver also loves chickens, rhe neighbors cat, wants to play eith every dog she sees. And slowly tries to walk up to thr rabbit that comes through our yard.
Tucker is rhe opposite chickens equal food, cat equals chase and bark, rabbit time to chase. And dogs nope

The thing is most dogs would go above and beyond to protect their owner even if they didnt show any aggression before.

That dig was aggressive though and growled and tried to nip me more then once. I think it got into a fight with another dog later

Our lab needs more socialization, he's fearful with some people and some dogs. I'm going to keep it slow though.

Definitely go slow. But he is still young and if he can learn from willow tis ok he should do well to.
