I'm with Hubby, heat just hammers me, like the cold, hate that damn snow!

I could handle winter better if it weren't for the short hours of daylight. And if I could be sure that I could always get out of our driveway and safely drive on the roads.

70F today than a big dip (30sF) in night temps high 40s low 50s day. Time to pull syrup and wrap. It's about average time for it. Good numbers of bees and stores. Do a heft chk weekly to decide on block feeders. Warmer and dryer than usual long term winter forecast predicted, but we know what that's worth.

Adding a single 2 quart jar of syrup to each hive today.

With overnight lows in the mid 20s on the way this weekend, it's probably time to wrap the hive. We have the mouse (and moose ) excluder in place, and the ladies have 7-7 1/2 deep frames of capped honey in their "upstairs pantry."
