She seems happy now. I have a fake egg still under her, so she’s sticking tight.

This broody and her chicks are happy and ready to get going. The clown faced chicks are the pure BCM.

Unfortunately only 4 BCM chicks out of 12 eggs. I’ll have to do an eggtopsy this afternoon to see where things went wrong. But the good thing is there are now 4 BCM chicks! They’re better looking than the 1/2 marans chicks imo. Better size and stance and facial markings. Only 1 of the pointy “male” eggs hatched. I didn’t tag him, but I’m pretty sure I know which one he is. He had the most fine detailed white facial markings.
The black hen got all the olive eggers and whiting chicks and the Easter egger hen got all the marans and Easter egger chicks. That way I should be to monitor them as they grow without getting them too mixed up.

Yes, not a fun thing to do. BCM eggs— 4 clear, 4 were developed, but didn’t hatch, and 4 healthy chicks.
