Thanks. Speckle my cochin bantam that has the bad leg has gone hardcore broody so rather than putting her in the cage like I normally do to break them I thought I'd just stick a couple of eggs under her. Sh is now on 2 cuckoo Maran eggs and three araucana eggs.

5,6,7 should be easy for them. Unless she’s really small. Give her a good bed of shavings or whatever and she’ll build a nice bowl. They are fabulous broodies, and usually great mommas too.

I especially like that they mentioned trying silkies also, and the silkies would get up to eat and drink, but go back to the wrong nests. Dumb as a box of rocks.
