RIP 1953-2021
oops forgot to answer all...It's massive! For some reason I thought it was much smaller. I hope your builders make a decent job of it for you. How long until you can move in?
Did you consider pouring a concrete floor? Mine is a bit rough, but done right and polished up they can look fantastic. It looks as if you have sufficient depth for a decent thickness of concrete.
The living area is 480 square feet give or take. Get furniture in there and you will get the scale. That wall that sticks out is one foot thick as are all my exterior walls. The original was a mobile home and they built a house around it. So yes the half that has the kitchen is on Piers set on top of wood blocks. and if you cut through a wall you will find Tin siding half way through.
Luis is a Journeyman in home building so he can do it all. His father Is a Journeyman as well, and has his own business Rehabbing homes as well as new construction. They both worked on my friends houses. One in La Jolla Which is a very very high rent community. Two in Discanso.
She is the one that recommended them.
Luis is a young fellow full of energy and quick to call dad if he encounters a problem. I think this may be his first solo rehab. But After talking to him on several occasions I have faith that he will do right by me.
The great part is as I am paying cash as he goes the price is lower and I opened a contractors account at a local hardware store. So when he tells me the amount of wood he needs and drywall etc... All I have to do is order it up and have it delivered. More is better because the delivery charge is the same. I did that for the materials to rehab the green house room and was very satisfied with the results.
moving in... I still have one room I want to clean out. and that is my Bedroom/art studio. I can set up shop in there and do a portable potty and do a toaster oven. So once I do that I can move in. The rest of the house gets done when it gets done.
I just did a major pack job on the kitchen so its partially ready for the horse trailer. All my flip top plastic boxes will go in there as well as the kitchen stuff. I can park the trailer and unload at my leisure. most of the boxes haven't been looked into for a very long time. If I try to do that here it will take months.
I have no living room furniture except a couple of chairs. One I want to move to my bedroom. Furniture will have to wait.
