Please help, which type of Marans are these (I think) pullets. Mum is a Black Copper Marans, Dad is a Blue Splash Marans. Thus I am aware that you can end up with all different. One (The darker 1) has much more copper leakage, the other is like smokey grey, with v small copper leakage but it is there. Would love to hear your opinions, many Thanks xxxx

I would call them French Blue Copper Marans, but I'm not a Marans expert.

You are correct... Black x Splash is 100% Blue.

And yes, they both appear to be pullets.

Oh wow, amazing news! So they may look like my bluebell, 1 just has more copper leakage, I'm assuming that is a bad thing with Blues. Also, does anyone know what you get if you breed a splash male with a Blue pullet. Ooohhhh thank you so much! Looking forward to these dark eggs! Xxxx

No, I'd defer to the Marans experts, but I think the Blue Copper Marans are supposed to have the copper leakage (just like the BCM).
