🦃 Poult Poop: Normal?

I would not use fly spray around poults.

Very well. I’ll just let it be. It doesn’t bother me since they are further out in my front yard and away from my chickens and chicks.

(These are heritage so they won’t get huge and will reproduce without help)

Definitely not a big enough area.

Yes, I figured that once I had to move them every single day. Plus they’re growing so much faster than chicks in my eyes anyway. I’ll try and have them moved to a bigger place by the end of the week.

They get a lot bigger in the same amount of time which is why they need the high protein so they can grow fast.

Cool. So I’ll keep their high protein feed and build them a temporary larger coop to get them out of that small one asap.

Then I’ll build a tractor coop large enough to house 6 full grown turkeys (Even though I don’t plan to ever have more than 4).

Turkey math isn’t the same as chicken math right? Cuz I’m slowly realizing guinea math is close to the same as chicken math...

Thank you all

That's cecal poop and it should not have bubbles in it. How old are they? Do you have Safeguard and Corid?

We’re going to TSC now. Is Safeguard and Corid something good to have on hand or just buy it when we actually need it?

Turkey math can be worse than chicken math because they are much easier to become attached to.

I went from 8 turkeys this spring to 35 turkeys and back down to 8 turkeys. This is going to change again soon since one hen is due by the 6th, another by the 13th and another by the 15th. There is another on her second try and a 5th on her 3rd nest. A skunk got the 1st nest, another hen stole the 2nd nest.

This doesn't account for the guinea eggs in the incubator that are due the 18th. I will start another batch of guinea eggs soon I already have 5 dozen plus ready to go in. They add up fast when 8 hens are laying 8 eggs daily.

I am sure that Kathy would at least recommend having the Corid if not both. Personally I don't have either. If mine are going to live, they will live, if they are going to be sickly, I "help" them on their way. So far this has worked good for me in maintaining a healthy flock. It may not work well for someone else.
