*05/18* day 12, we candled & have movement!!

Hey ya'll, we're new hear but looking forward to sharing out smiles and babies with you!

We bought 6 eggs, they sent 8...One has a small chip missing and some small cracks, the rest look perfect!...

Is there anything we can do about these cracks?...Image attached...


AND, do the 21 days start being laid or put in incubator?

Let them rest large side up in that carton for 8-24 hours to adjust to house temps.. When they are finally in the bator -lets say you put them in at 10am-thats day one--if you put them in at 10 pm day one doesnt start until morning-yes? The chips can be fixed with candle wax-not familiar with it but look in the search engine! good luck

I patched an egg with wax from a bithday candle. After you light it and it starts dripping just let the wax drip on the crack and seal it. It worked for me. Good luck!

ok you tell me-how long have they been sitting out in that carton? what time did you plan on putting them in -?

ok you should have them sitting out to become room temp for 8-24 hours-this is just considered "sitting" time...not incubation time..so if you put them in the bator at noon today( hypothetically Apirl1 )-today is day 1-give or take a few hours April 22 would when they should start hatching out...21 days..yes? dang girl-it be a whole lot easier to text you LOL

First off...

Your 21 days start counting once in bator.

At 18 days you stop turning and increase humidity. Depending on temps may be day 20 to 23 for hatch.

Can the eggs touch in the bator?...To get the pointy end tilted downward I had to lean them on each other...

no turner? if not.they should be fine touching-just make sure you mark one side with and x and one side with an o. that way you know you are rotating all the same way 3x a day.
