Hi All,
Looking for some help with my poor Plymouth Rock. A couple of days ago she was limping quite badly and also had a swollen eye. I’ve been watching her closely and while she is now using her foot much better and seems to be healing her eye and parts of her foot are going green. I’ve segregated her from the rest of the flock. Wondering what this might be and if I can treat? She is blinking a lot and her behaviour is a little more reserved but not overly down.
Thank you in advance. I’ve included photos for reference.

Green usually means bruising. Could she have been hit by something?
Thank you! I don’t think she could have been hit by anything. We do have high perches and the girls like to perch up the top. Thinking perhaps she’s come off the top perch and bumped her head on the way down? Not sure we didn’t see her do it. The other chooks aren’t bothering her as she is quite high up the pecking order.

Hi All, Just an update on this. Sadly our girl didn't make it. It was infection and unfortunately we couldn't save her in time. We have absolutely no idea what she did. The vet said she could have scratched it and then it got infected. All our other chickens are fine. The fact that it happened when her leg was injured we think she must have had a fall or something. Very sad. Thanks everyone for your feedback though. Really appreciate your help.
