I'm sorry for my absence. I explained to Alex that I am having seriously painful dental issues and it's really affecting my life. I hope to resolve this in a few weeks.

The Dental system both private and NHS is appalling inadequate. So I battle on.

I hope everyone is well and I hope to be back to normal on a fee week's.

Love to you all and your feathered family

Something to make you smile
Dental issues are not fun. Even worse when you cannot get them resolved promptly. :hugs

My husband is an expert at repurposing. Which is probably why our property looks like a scene from Sanford and Son, because he saves everything in case it comes in handy some day. 😂
(For you young whippersnappers who might not get the reference, Sanford and Son was a tv show about a junk yard.)

They definitely found lots of high spots. But it taught me how to see things with their eyes. Everything up high is a potential roost, lol.

Pics? I don’t think you have posted any good ones of him lately.

Please tell her that Angel, our Porcelain D’uccle, has turned out to be a spoiled little princess. Lol

I keep forgetting to post that some of my girls started laying. Including at least one of the silkies, which surprised me because they are only 18 weeks old. Will post them in a few minutes.

Fingers crossed it works out well for both of us. I also took the risk of mixing sizes, and have a rooster at both ends of the spectrum (Silkie and Chocolate Orpington). But I knew a few members on this thread had been successful at it.

Oh your d’Uccle is such a beauty, I definitely need another barn hahaha. For all this lovelies I wish to admire from my lawnchair!

As you know I have a bunch of different breeds and sizes here, and while I have had issues with the Roos fighting (Bert and Mr P esp), so far my three boys are be having. Mr P does chase down the two younger smaller boys, but they run away and he ignores them after.

Mr LC will sneak up on Mr P and ninja thump him, Mr P will try to put the run on him but Mr LC is way too fast for him. But Mr P has a couple of times thumped Mr LC so the ninja attacks have lessened.

The hens themselves have no issues, everyone gets along. My big concern is Mr P and his trying to breed Mrs LC, she hates Mr LC and only has eyes for Mr LC. The couple times I have caught Mr P trying to breed her, she has actually let him!

I have not seen him breeding her recently so maybe she is saying no. The smaller Roos breeding the larger hens I’m not so problematic, more
Hilarious actually.

I am so sorry about the dental issues. Trust me, I know it is no fun and dealing with insurances and finding a dentist to take your insurance is a struggle. Please take care of yourself. A few months ago while waiting for that broken tooth to be pulled I tried everything, including some home remedies. Clove oil works and works well. If you do not have that you can take some soft butter and put ground clove in it and rub it on the affected area. It will burn for a minute but give some much needed relief afterwards for some time. I also resorted to holding some whiskey on the affected tooth a time or two. Also very effective, you just have to be careful while doing that one.

I thought I was ready to wean myself off the strong painkillers. I took my last pill around 11 last night. I should have set a alarm for 5 am this morning. I did not, I slept through it and did not wake up until 8. I will say that was a horrible decision, and no I am not ready. I woke up hurting so bad that it made me sick and I can feel every heartbeat in my arm. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and my shoulder has hurt pretty much non-stop for 2 years. This.....this is different let me tell you.

Was wondering where you were. Hope you get some relief soon.

Mr P misses you on here!

And i miss him to as well as everyone here as well as our lovely feathered families. 💕 💞 ♥️

Finally this tooth is out. :th

It was missing more than half of the inside of the outer enamel and 99 percent of the tooth was drilled away and just cemented with the filling too the pulp.
Meaning only the outside of the enamel remained nothing at all inside.

The condition of what was left was bound to be infected looking at the amount of tooth he left

The replacement filling should have been the size of a dot from a ink marker, in size but filling was 97 percent of the tooth, the rest was drilled away and filled to the pulp with filling.

I felt I was going to die in agony until the hospital helped by drainage by bleeding the gum to release the infection to come downwards from my head

The swelling after got behind my eye, which made the swelling increase. I looked as if I'd been in a boxing match. With my eye and face swelling. Nevertheless it was a relief because this was aiming for my brain
The pain was into the temple of my head and affecting my vision

Another person had similar, it was in our papers and Facebook. He had to have brain surgery as well. So I was lucky my friend acted quickly getting me emergency treatment i desperately needed.

There is a lot more dental treatment to come because of everything that needed too be done over the years was refused; i asked countless times.

Moving forward again my friends are guiding me to a better place that has already treated them.
One of these friends was equally as bad as I am and is now safely out of danger and pain. The other needed only minor alterations.

I couldn't wait to get my tooth out any longer, as the infection would have kept reoccurring. This dentist kindly got me through at their earliest opportunity

She was a lovely dentist, who was at least capable of taking this tooth away. Such a huge relief.

This tooth looks like something left from an Egyptian tomb, absolutely revolting 😠

Please excuse my long reply.
