1. Almost 7 wk Blue Splash Marans / 2. “Black Copper Marans” what breed is this?

Help! Is Stella a he or a she? I’m going to use the pronoun she because I really hope she’s a she! “She’s” very sweet, a little flighty. “She” seems to have a much bigger comb then what is supposed to be a “black copper Marans” (who has a muff and a beard?!!!, thanks Meyer hatchery) who is the same age. “Her” comb has also started to get pink.

My “black copper Marans” has a beard and a muff and feathered legs? What is “she”?

Can you get better pictures of the saddle area. They might not have saddle feathers yet but that might help a little bit. They both look like pullets right now

Both look like hens for now.. it’s still a bit early to know for sure, update us in a couple of weeks!

They both look like pullets, though the second one’s comb is a little suspicious. This one is likely a Marans based Olive Egger.

Neither is looking like a definite cockerel, but it is still a bit early.

The blue one is likely an olive egger, Ameraucana crossed with Marans.
