1 banty vs. 22 full sized hens of various breeds (including "giant" breeds).

We have 5 bantams in our flock, 3 rooster (2 Mille Fleur, 1 dark brahma) and 2 dark Brahma hens. The standard hens they were raised with will let the roosters breed them, the roosters even take on our Welsummer and RR roosters.

I am starting to think this chick is actually a little roo, so hopefully that will improve his chances of success in our group. One of the brahmas acts pretty dominant with the other pullets, so I guess I will see.

I have a Sicilian Buttercup "butters" who is especially tiny.
A hens average weight should be 5.5 pounds, she is maybe half that. I bought her as a 17 week pullet , along with 3 others of different breeds. I already had a 6 month old RIR, sole survivor of my first chicken sickness battle. They all got along fine, no issues even with the self appointed queen "bertha" a huge Buff Brahma. We ended up with a rooster and a few more hens after we discovered not everyone in our batch of meat chicks were in fact that.
Dynamics changed a bit and Bertha started to pick on Butters. At first it was a few missing feathers but soon turned in to constant chasing and brutally. I have a self pact that any "pet" that gets a name will never go to freezer camp. Well I was about to make stew.
I retreated to BYC and saw the idea of quarantined the bully. Bertha went into a tiny prefabricated coop sitting in the middle of their run.
After a week of confinement I opened the door and let her out. Straight to mingling as if she had never served time.
2.5 years later Butters and Bertha are the golden girls of the flock. The are best buddies, rarely do they interact during the day roaming, but always roost together.
I have even found a badly molting Butters snuggled up under Berthas wing. So moral of the story is....if they are raised together they should be fine. But if you change the dynamics something usually goes astray.

PS, I have since learned to limit naming......
