I'm not against house chickens. I think that if you're able to spend enough time with her and she gets some outside time, it's fine.

Is she a meat breed chicken? You mentioned her coming from a farm that raises birds for meat. If so, you should prepare yourself for the high likelihood that she will die or need to be killed (for humane/welfare reasons) at a relatively young age.
