The funny thing about this one is, she had very well-defined, dark markings at day-old. But now, (s)he's got a big, pinkish comb and wattles, no salmon-coloured feathers and is very assertive. (S)he also feathered out much more slowly than my other two pullets (who are an Austra White and a Gold Legbar). Thoughts? I hope I just ended up with a really manly chick (pun intended). Is it too soon to tell?

the one at the front is the maybe-roo. 3 days old.

here (s)he is at 1 week

Still too early to tell but my guess would be a rooster. The wattle is starting to develop and the comb is more pink than yellow. If s(he) pecks at you a lot when you pick it up, then again I would say rooster.

I can't tell well from the pics, but Wellies are easy to sex once they feather in. Males will have black feathers on the breast, females salmon-reddish.
