1 of the chicks in my first hatch isn't eating or drinking it has splayed leg and is very lethargic

Poor baby...I really hope she improves quickly.. i have a wobbly sick baby as well, I tried to get her to eat chick starter mixed with yogurt, she took a couple pecks at it but thats all. today i got some electrolytes and mixed it with the water. so hopefully that will give her a little more stability...it always a struggle to think your gonna lose one, and you try your hardest to nurse them back to health... please keep us updated to her condition...

Thanks missy I hope yours gets better soon too, I've gave it electrolytes from a dropper twice today she barely took any of it only swallowed a few drops, tried crumbled up hard boiled egg then yogurt and mushed up chick crumb but she won't take anything, I saw another a thread from a few years ago of someone describing the same symptoms in one of her chicks and said it took 3 weeks for her to act normally so I keep drip feeding it the electrolytes and try offering different foods and hope for the best, pls keep in touch with your progress too good luck

Ok a little bit of progress so far, i kept drop feeding it electroltye water and noticed that if i dropped it's crumbs in front of it it would snatch bits up i guess it's brain is telling it that if it moves it's a bug and it needs to eat it quickly before it gets away so it took a while, 1 little piece of crumb at a time but eventually it caught on, the other thing that's helped us into a separate brooder with 1 other small chick to keep it company and also let it show the other how to eat from the feeder and drinker so hopefully it's on its way up and better, hopefully this can help with your chick too
