I would do Road Island Reds. They are super friendly and sweet plus they are good layers. Excellent dual purpose bird!

I think a flock of salmon faverolles would be lovely and sweet

I have 1 salmon faverolle and my goodness she is loud! Her egg song can be heard from my house! She is fine otherwise but she squawks!

No, he's not. Your bird may be a Partridge Rock of some sort.
