Many people use eggs from hens who have been on Baytril after a month, but it is up to you whether or not to use them. Baytril has been banned for chickens in the US for many years, but is one of the best antibiotics available. However some vets need to prescribe something for the type of bacteria that may cause infection. When there is a risk of bone infection, it is best to use the best antibiotic to help prevent it. Most antibiotics are not approved for egg laying chickens, but many use them with an appropriate egg withdrawal time.
