1 YR old Phoenix,1 eye swollen, hot to touch w/BUBBLES, what to do?

I heard my phoenix Robert making a strange noise this morning sort of like a whine? I picked him up and noticed his one eye is all swollen and very hot to the touch. I put him into a crate and gave him some baytril. I don't see an injury, could he have a sinus infection just on the one side, no sneezing or sign of respiratory distress. My birds are tested every 3 weeks for AI and get a clean bill of health but that would be both eyes and there is no discharge of any kind either.

Anyone ever had this or know what it could be. Everyone else in his group seems just fine. I have several eye meds on hand but I am not sure if that would help, anyone?

Keep after him with the Baytril, it should do the trick. But be sure to watch for sour crop while treating, seems that when a bird is on Baytril in rare cases it can cause crop problems.

I can't tell if there is a difference today yet. I am thinking of cleaning the eye with saline and I have various drops (meds from chickens, bunnies & dogs), should I use any?

The eye itself looks healthy but he still has a lot of swelling but I think it is a little better than last week.

Robert's eye isn't much better only a little bit, well I mean the skin around the eye but he has what look like tiny clear bubbles in the part of the eye closer to the beak.

Anyone with more suggestions? It is still warm to the touch and still swollen but not as hot as it was at first.

I have flushed my chickens' eyes with Boric acid solution (look for a recipe for boric acid eye wash for humans) then followed that with the application of a thin strip of Terramycin eye ointment (gently lift the uper eylid and apply the ointment below it so that it has a chance to "stick" to the entire eye and not just rub or wash off immediately.) Did this twice a day until the apparent infection was completely cleared-up. A reputable avian vet suggested it and it worked well for my girls when they had eye infections along with a respiratory disease. Oh, Boric acid powder can usually be purchased from a good pharmacy.

Did the bump ever go away? I have a chicken with the exact same thing. I order LS-50 from First State Vet Supply. Hopefully that works

It is a little smaller but still there. I had him off the baytril for awhile and a chicken friend of mine told me he had one with the same thing and he lanced it with a needle, got the puss out and it healed faster.

Soooo....last night I decided to try that but after poking him with a sterile needle all that came out was a little blood. He also sounded like he had a cold on that side of the head so I restarted him on baytril and put the eye neosporin around the wound and in the eye as the bubbles were back. Today he looks a bit better.

When I get a chance I will get a recent picture. Him being in the crate isn't good for his tail, some of it broke off. He is so handsome!

You might be able to press on the lump and force the puss out through the nostrial. I'd rinse it out with Oxine AH too if you have some. This helped one of my chickens with the same problem.
