10 days post impacted crop surgery, crop won’t clear

Yes, I dd. That would of been round 2 of antibiotics and I didn't feel she needed it. Her appetite returned.

Thank you for that, she has 2 more days left of her antibiotics, we are getting a crop bra tomorrow and praying this all helps her, can't bear the thought of going into Christmas and not being able to get her to a vets

I wish you the best. I understand how incredibly stressful this is. It did take a couple days after I stopped the antibiotics before she really started eating.

Hey I'm having a similar issue with a hen and I'm running out of options. I had the fluid drained from her crop at the beginning twice she was put on nystatin and was on the mend and just when I was ready to move her back to the run her crop blew up again. Now a month layer she lost a lot of weight and is always miserable even when her crop has no liquid in it.at the beginning she used to brighten up when the liquid was emptied but not anymore. She won't eat anything I'm now force feeding her little balls of wet mashed pellets to keep her alive. Everytime I stop the anti fungal the sour crop returns. Her poops were very narrow and small as though there is a blockage somewhere. There is no blockage in the crop.

Ive tried enzymes incase there is a grass ball somewhere, she constantly on probiotics.

Vets keep putting her on antibiotics which she had shown no sign of having infection before or during the sour crop/ crop stasis.

She laid an egg egg morning after the first evening I noticed her crop was large and squishy. She hasnt laid since but if she was laying at the start shouldn't that rule out reproductive infections?

I wonder if the prolonged period without food when her crop was full of liquid can cause the digestive system to shut off.

I dunno anymore anyone have any suggestions?
