When using a lightbulb for heat what exactly is the point of using a lightbulb that specifically puts out more light with less heat?

I don't buy that it is safer. Everything I know about a CLF leads to make them quite dangerous as a heat source in an incubator. Using one actually goes against its warning.

They are no safer or more dangerous than any bulb. Since nothing is coming in contact with the bulb, there is no reason for them to be unsafe.

With an incuantor the size of mine, even the smallest incadescent bulb that could fit into a standard socket was too hot. Therefore I went for a bulb with low heat plus it's an energy saver.
