I got this guy out of the bin at Meyer Hatchery, so I’m not sure on the breed. I do know they carry both breeds and whatever that was in the bin was what was leftover from filling orders.

Here’s my jubilee orpington pullet:

and here’s this guy with the jubilee pullet in the background & some more pictures of him. He’s even smaller than both my jubilee pullet and speckled sussex pullets. This guy is confusing me all around, lol. They are all the same age.

Agreed. The orps are huge and feather in slowly. 😊
This guy is just throwing me off because I have a jubilee orpington pullet and a speckled sussex pullet. He’s smaller than both ( not bantam small, though ) and his tail is…well, not much of a tail while my SS has a full tail. I’ve never had either breed before, so I don’t know how the males & females differ in how they feather in.

Well there is individual variation from one bird to another. The Jubilee Orpingtons that are available in most hatcheries are the English type which are quite a bit larger than the American type (standard hatchery buff Orpington for example).
Pretty sure your little little guy is a speckled Sussex.😊

Can it be Old english game? I have an OEGB that I thought was SS but everyone here says OEGB. Not sure why but they say it every time I posted them. Lol
I could be totally off too!!! Just a thought of a possibility 🤔
