Ditto would like to know what you see that says cockerel. Would love to k ow what to look for. Thanks. How can you tell with this breed of chicken for Roo or Pullet? What are you looking at/for?
With silkies it’s a bit trickier, but as a general rule the males will have bigger combs and waddles. In any other breed they would also have point saddle and hackle feathers. Silkie cockerels have “streamers” in place of hackle feathers and their combs are much larger than that of a pullet. It won’t show it in the picture, but male silkies will usually have very visible, bright blue ears. How can you tell with this breed of chicken for Roo or Pullet? What are you looking at/for?
