10 weeks/ sick lethargic

All I can say is that all sick birds are dehydrated and hydration needs to be corrected before force feeding. Force feeding a dehydrated bird can do more harm than good.

Yes I’ve been force drinking ( dipping beak in water) the last few days. He’s wasting away and syringe feeding is my last ditch effort. I guess I felt like after being on corid for 4 days I’d see improvement and he would start to eat again. I know where to put the syringe. I was planning to repeat feeding but I’m worried after your last post. Thx for the video

Dipping the beak in water doesn't work. He really needs no less than 50 ml of fluids per pound per day. If he were mine he would get at least twice that. I understand your frustration and your desire to put calories in him, but it's recommended by veterinarians to correct hydration first.

Thanks @casportpony i feel like I’m being short too I’m super emotional because I’m exhausted. I can get a tube from work tomorrow and will try if need be then. I’m happy to see he actually ate some yoke. You guys are great help. I’m just hoping to see some more improvement. Just hard after 12+ hrs of work and 2 kids. I’ll update later

Has he been drinking a lot of water or barely any?
Have you keep a close eye on the water level?
I think you should syringe him water in-between feedings?

I can feel his crop! And he had a poop that actually resembled poop! Mixed with liquid etc. my husband said he started eating on his own today too. Still weak and shaky.. I’m cautiously optimistic. On day 3 of corid. I have read through hundreds of these posts looking for help and lots of times I never hear the out come after treatment. I just wanted to say thanks again to the ladies. We aren’t out of the woods but I feel like I have all the knowledge now to proceed. We are keeping him inside until he’s fully recovered. Sick chickens seem to have ups and downs in recovery so really hoping we keep up the good eating etc. you all are lifesavers.. literally
