The nearest rehab place is a couple hours and like I said I work a lot. And people on our Craigslist around here wouldn't hesitate to nark on it and cause a lot of problems. I can hold on till the weekend but I don't have a lot of options
Well, if it's a person from the Department of National Resources, which is what I would guess based on context, they should know what they're doing. Perhaps they just explained it badly. I just really hope they aren't planning to just turn a bunch of less than a week old ducklings loose in the wild on their own...
I lived in Wisconsin. Since you have so many they should be easy to imprint on themselves and hopefully nit on you. I'd say since it's summer to brood them until old enough but still teach them natural habitats. This means don't be afraid to show them the outdoors and have a kiddie pool setup outside. Maybe even have a fence area for those hot nights. Since its such a large pack and as long as you don't fall hard in love with them they should pick up the natural insticts. If they truly are wild they will fly.
Otherwise a local humane society will be your next bet. They may be able to properly rehabilitate them.
People raise baby ducks around here and release them all the time. As soon as I decide they are healthy and arent gonna kill my birds they are going out to the farm to learn how to chase bugs and do duck things and if they choose to fly away they can if not they can stick around for as long as they want.
