100 Pictures of my Flock: 2013 Edition

You're too kind. I'm not even sure how I would go about doing something like that. I'd like to have a nice picture of each of my birds, though, to hang on my wall... :love

ETA: What I mean is, I don't have a nice printer that will print all my pretty pictures of my hens.

There are plenty of programs to do it, even Microsoft Word/Publisher. I agree with Chic Girl, just print them out at the Pharmacy or something. They print good pictures and are relatively cheap, especially if you would only be printing 12 or 13 pics. I think I printed 120 photos at Costco for $20. It would only coat you around $5. Good resolution too.

.... I've developed an idea....
If you complete all of your 100 photo challenges, you can compile your favorite picture for each challenge, and print them off for one giant photo album for the year! It would be a great way to keep track of favorite memories with your flock!

I used to do something similar for 4-H, when I raised ducks. I would take pictures of my project birds throughout the spring, and would make a small scrapbook to show off for my project judging- after a few years, the scrapbook became huge! I still look through those scrapbook pages to remember my previous duck flocks, and I enjoy just having something like that!

:thumbsup I started on a flock scrapbook a couple years ago, but never got around to finishing it. I think it would be great to tote around and show all the people that ask about my birds.

I do that with the pictures on my cell phone. People think I'm insane the way I talk about my hens, and then I show them the pictures to prove it. :gig D'you suppose they make those wallets with the fold-out picture slots to have a 40-picture capacity? Oh, now I'm getting ideas...

The community version sounds like a lot of fun! I'll bet a lot of people would love to add their pictures to an album like that- me included! What a great idea!

:thumbsup Glad to hear it! Right now, I'm trying to come up with all the themes for it. If you have any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them! :)

How about some pictures this evening?

Kate squatted for me, but not long enough for me to get a picture of her. She was, however, quite offended that I touched her while she crouched, and she was 83. fluffing it out for a good few minutes afterward.

She also slowly morphed into a zombie, it would seem.

Miss Sparrow Wyandotte was equally offended that I touched her, too, though she fluffed out in a much more menacing way.

1000

Speaking of menacing, how about a couple more 96. ZOMBIES?

And finally, another couple candidates for 97. the stinkiest stink-eye. Freema was upset with me this evening. I was paying too much attention to another hen.

Natalie, well... I'm not sure why Natalie was glaring at me. Maybe I should sleep lightly tonight...

Anyone?

Well, I heard a suspicious scratching over the monitor in the coop, and so with camera in tow, I went out to investigate.

Come to find out, the girls were having a mass dust bath. In the coop. Talk about 50. dust kicking up! Apparently, when a beam of sunlight makes it into the coop, it becomes the perfect place for a good dusting in the sand under the perches.

It started with a few.

1000

Soon, more came.

It quickly became hectic, dust flying everywhere and birds scratching all around!

1000

Then, through the dust, I noticed something...

1000

And going back through the pictures I had taken, I noticed in the background that Frou-Frou had been in that corner of the coop, laying 93. a really fresh egg!

Here she is in the middle of laying it:

If you look really close in these two pictures, you can see the egg sitting under her:

I don't know why, but apparently Frou'f has been nesting there for a while. I had been finding eggs down there, but didn't know who the culprit was until now.
